William P. McGivern

William P. McGivern (1918–1982) became famous for hard-boiled crime, The Big Heat and Rogue Cop both became classic films, and for television scripts, but he served his apprenticeship in the 1940s writing science fiction and fantasy for Amazing and Fantastic Adventures, often prolifically. His genre stories are a lively record of a future crime master learning his craft in the pulps.
