William F. Nolan (1928–2021) co-wrote (with George Clayton Johnson) Logan’s Run (1967), the dystopia of a society that executes everyone at 21, which became a hit film and franchise. A member of the ‘Southern California School’ around Charles Beaumont and Ray Bradbury, he wrote widely across SF, horror and mystery, and was named a living legend by the International Horror Guild. A tireless, versatile professional.
