Dave Dryfoos (1915–2003) published science fiction for about five busy years from 1950, appearing across Astounding, Galaxy, Imagination and If. His steady stream of competent magazine stories, nineteen of which were later gathered posthumously, makes him a representative figure of the 1950s boom, when the magazines had room for many such dependable hands.
