Terry Carr (1937–1987) was among the most influential editors in science fiction, his ‘Best of the Year’ anthologies and the revived Ace Science Fiction Specials introduced or elevated writers like William Gibson (Neuromancer appeared in the line) and Kim Stanley Robinson.
