Jim Harmon (1933–2010) wrote more than fifty science-fiction stories and novelettes for Galaxy, If, Amazing and other magazines in the 1950s and 60s, but is best remembered as a devoted historian of American popular culture. His 1967 book The Great Radio Heroes helped launch serious nostalgia for old-time radio, and he received the Inkpot Award for his contributions.
