Jack Sharkey (1931–1992) was a Chicago-based writer whose roughly fifty science-fiction and fantasy stories, many comic, many for Galaxy and Fantastic, appeared in a concentrated burst around 1959–1963. He edited briefly, wrote the ‘Jerry Norcriss, xenobiologist’ series, and then moved on to a successful second career as a prolific author of stage comedies and farces.
