Norman Spinrad (born 1940) has been one of science fiction’s most confrontational voices since the 1960s. Bug Jack Barron shocked with its media-and-politics satire; The Iron Dream reframes an alternate-history Hitler as a pulp SF novelist to skewer the genre’s own fascist undercurrents. A restless, political writer and past president of the SFWA.
