Arthur J. Burks (1898–1974) was a legendary pulp workhorse, a former Marine officer dubbed a ‘king of the pulps’ for his enormous output across Weird Tales, adventure and science-fiction magazines. His weird and horror tales, and later his SF, poured out at astonishing speed. A defining figure of the pulp era’s sheer productive energy.
