Stanley R. Lee (1928–1997), not the Marvel Comics Stan Lee, was a New York advertising executive who wrote the copy for the famous 1964 ‘Daisy’ political commercial. Late in life he turned to fiction, publishing two well-received science-fiction thrillers, Dunn’s Conundrum and The God Project, both turning on secret intelligence agencies and runaway technology. A sharp, satirical latecomer to the genre.
