Anthony Boucher

Anthony Boucher (1911–1968), pen name of William Anthony Parker White, co-founded The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction in 1949 and edited it to a new standard of literary quality. A polymath fluent in several languages, he wrote elegant SF, fantasy and detective fiction, translated Borges into English, and was a hugely influential reviewer in both fields; the Bouchercon mystery convention is named in his honour.
