Robert Donald Locke was a WWII Air Force veteran who published about a dozen science-fiction stories in the 1950s, beginning with ‘Demotion’ in Astounding (1952), sometimes as ‘Roger Arcot’. ‘Dark Nuptial’, turning on a matter-transmission tragedy, is among his memorable tales. Little of his life is recorded beyond the bibliography.
