Milton A. Rothman (1919–2001) was a nuclear physicist and one of the earliest science-fiction fans, a member of the Futurians, who published stories, notably as ‘Lee Gregor’, beginning with ‘Heavy Planet’ in Astounding. Later he wrote thoughtful non-fiction about the limits of physical law and the plausibility of SF ideas. A characteristic figure of the deep overlap between science and the science-fiction community.
