John Berryman (1916–1988), the SF writer and economist, not the poet of the same name, published some two dozen stories from ‘Special Flight’ in Astounding (1939) onward. Under the name ‘Walter Bupp’ he wrote a well-liked series of telekinesis tales for Campbell’s Analog in the early 1960s. (Contrary to a persistent bibliographic error, ‘Walter Bupp’ was Berryman, not Randall Garrett.) A sharp, capable magazine writer.
