Hayden Howard (1925–2014) was a Santa Barbara educator and poet who wrote science fiction from 1952, scattered across Galaxy, If, Analog and others. His major work, The Eskimo Invasion, a fix-up of seven Galaxy stories set unusually in Canada and dramatising overpopulation, was Nebula-nominated. A thoughtful part-timer whose one big theme left a mark.
