George S. Schuyler (1895–1977) was a prominent and provocative African-American journalist and satirist whose novel Black No More (1931) imagines a process that turns Black people white, using science fiction to skewer American racial obsession on all sides. A pioneering and biting work of Black speculative satire, alongside his pulp ‘Black Empire’ serials.
