Frank Riley (1915–1996), pen name of Frank Ryhlick, published only a handful of science-fiction stories in the mid-1950s, but one collaboration made history: with Mark Clifton he wrote They’d Rather Be Right, winner of the 1955 Hugo for Best Novel. By profession a syndicated travel columnist and editor for the Los Angeles Times, he remains ‘the forgotten Hugo winner’.
