Jerry Sohl (1913–2002) wrote more than twenty novels, Costigan’s Needle, The Altered Ego, Point Ultimate, before becoming one of the busiest genre screenwriters of the 1960s, scripting The Twilight Zone (often ghosting for Charles Beaumont), The Outer Limits, The Invaders and Star Trek. A journalist turned storyteller, he was equally at home on the page and the screen.
