Ford Madox Ford (1873–1939) was a central figure of literary modernism, author of The Good Soldier and Parade’s End, and a great editor and mentor. For the speculative, he collaborated with Joseph Conrad on The Inheritors, a novel of a cold superior race from the ‘Fourth Dimension’, and his imaginative reach touched the fantastic within a distinguished literary career.
