Cory Doctorow (born 1971) is a leading voice in twenty-first-century science fiction and a prominent activist for digital rights and the open internet. His novels, most famously the young-adult surveillance thriller Little Brother, combine near-future extrapolation with urgent political engagement, and he releases much of his work for free under Creative Commons licences. A former director of the Electronic Frontier Foundation and long-time blogger, he is as influential as a technology commentator as a novelist.
