Robert S. Richardson

Robert S. Richardson (1902–1981) was a professional astronomer at Mount Wilson and Palomar who wrote hard science fiction under the name ‘Philip Latham’, stories like ‘The Xi Effect’ grounded in genuine astrophysics, as well as popular science and, controversially, essays on space travel’s social questions. A true scientist-writer of the field.
