Otto Binder (1911–1974), the ‘O’ of the ‘Eando Binder’ byline he shared with brother Earl, was an astonishingly prolific writer of both prose SF (the Adam Link robot stories) and comics, scripting thousands of stories including much of the classic Captain Marvel and, later, Superman canon, where he created Supergirl and the Legion of Super-Heroes. A foundational figure of comic-book science fiction.
