Albert Daiber (1857–1928) was a German pharmacist, physician and traveller who wrote the utopian ‘Weltensegler’ novels, Drei Jahre auf dem Mars and Vom Mars zur Erde (1910–1914), following a voyager’s long stay on a peaceful, advanced Mars. Their pacifist vision is thought to have inspired the pioneering Danish SF film Himmelskibet (1918). He later emigrated to Chile to practise medicine. A notable early German scientific-romancer.
