Nathan Schachner (1895–1955) was a chemist and lawyer who became one of the most prolific SF writers of the early 1930s, publishing widely in Wonder Stories and Astounding, often with a strong interest in politics and social systems, as in the ‘Past, Present and Future’ series. He later left the genre for a distinguished second career as a biographer of Aaron Burr, Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson.
