Karen Anderson (1932–2018) published from 1958 and collaborated extensively with her husband Poul Anderson, on the ‘Last Viking’ and ‘King of Ys’ sequences among others. She wrote the first published science-fiction haiku and is credited with coining the fannish term ‘filk’ for science-fiction folk song. A costumer, poet and much-loved presence in fandom for decades.
