J. Harvey Haggard (1913–2001) sold his first story to Wonder Stories at seventeen and became a steady contributor of colourful, alien-world science fiction to the early pulps through the 1930s, later reaching Astounding. He also wrote poetry as ‘The Planet Prince’. A characteristic imaginative voice of the Gernsback-era magazines, and a railwayman by trade.
