Henry Farrell (1920–2006), born Charles Farrell Myers, first wrote the comic ‘Toffee’ science-fantasy stories for the magazines in the 1940s and 50s. He then reinvented himself as the master of ‘psycho-biddy’ gothic suspense with the novel What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?, filmed unforgettably with Davis and Crawford, and co-wrote the screenplay for Hush…Hush, Sweet Charlotte.
