Georges Le Faure (1856–1953) was among the most successful French emulators of Jules Verne, whose Les Aventures extraordinaires d’un savant russe, written with Henry de Graffigny, carries its explorers across the Moon, Venus, Mars and Jupiter in a sweeping, science-popularising space voyage. A prolific popular novelist across many genres, he was an important figure in early French science fiction.
