David C. Knight (1925–1984) wrote a great many juvenile books on science and space, and science fiction besides, the tender robot story ‘The Love of Frank Nineteen’ among his best-known short work. A WWII veteran and Sorbonne-educated New York publishing editor, he was a notable populariser of science for young readers.
