Cicely Hamilton

Cicely Hamilton (1872–1952) was an actress, playwright and prominent suffragist whose novel Theodore Savage (1922; revised as Lest Ye Die) imagines Britain reduced to barbarism after a devastating future war, a grim, powerful entry in the interwar catastrophe tradition, informed by her experience of the First World War.
