Arthur Dekker Savage (born 1923), raised in rural Illinois, was a fleeting but striking presence in the 1950s magazines, publishing about six stories in 1952–1954, ‘Survivors’, ‘The Butterfly Kiss’ and others. Against the grain of the gadget-focused pulps, he wrote about what technology did to the people who used it. A short, thoughtful career.
