Ralph Milne Farley (1887–1963), pen name of Roger Sherman Hoar, a lawyer and state senator, wrote breezy scientific romances for the pulps, above all the ‘Radio Man’ series in which a hero is transported to Venus, in the Burroughs mould. A busy Argosy and Amazing contributor of the 1920s–40s, he was a characteristic entertainer of the sword-and-planet era.
