Jerzy Żuławski (1874–1915) wrote the ‘Lunar Trilogy’ (beginning with On the Silver Globe, 1903), an ambitious and philosophically rich saga of human colonists on the Moon and the myths and religions that grow among their descendants. A major work of early European science fiction, later filmed by Andrzej Żuławski.
