Irving E. Cox, Jr. (1917–2001) published briskly across the 1950s and into the 1960s, beginning with ‘Hell’s Pavement’ in Astounding in 1951. Most of his output was science fiction, appearing throughout Amazing, Fantastic and their rivals, with occasional excursions into crime and mystery. A characteristic professional of the magazine boom.
