Cleveland Moffett (1863–1926) was an American journalist whose The Conquest of America (1916) imagined a German invasion of the United States, an invasion-scare novel in the Chesney tradition, aimed at rousing American preparedness before the First World War. A characteristic work of the future-war genre on American soil.
