Clare Winger Harris

Clare Winger Harris (1891–1968) is generally credited as the first woman to publish SF under her own name in the genre magazines, beginning with ‘The Fate of the Poseidonia’ in Amazing Stories in 1927. Her thoughtful stories, exploring cyborgs, ecology and gender, broke ground for the many women who followed. A genuine pioneer.
