Ross Rocklynne (1913–1988), pen name of Ross Rocklin, was a fixture of the pulps from 1935, publishing widely in Astounding, Planet Stories and Fantastic Adventures. His ‘Time Wants a Skeleton’ is a much-anthologised classic, and his best stories turn clever problem-solving into real drama. A friend of the early fans, he wrote in two bursts across the decades, never quite as famous as his talent deserved.
