Richard Wilson (1920–1987) was a member of the legendary Futurians and a witty, humane short-story writer, ‘Mother to the World’ won the 1968 Nebula, and ‘The Eight Billion’ and ‘The Story Writer’ were award finalists too. As director of the Syracuse University News Bureau he built its great science-fiction manuscript archive, persuading Pohl, Niven, Clement and many others to donate their papers.
