Otto Witt (1875–1923) was a mining engineer who became a pioneer of Swedish science fiction, founding in 1916 the magazine Hugin, one of the world’s earliest periodicals largely devoted to ‘scientific’ fiction, and filling it with his own didactic speculative tales. An eccentric but genuine early European figure in the genre’s development.
