Charles B. Stilson (1880–1932) wrote the ‘Polaris of the Snows’ trilogy for the Argosy in the mid-1910s, vigorous lost-world adventures of a young man raised at the South Pole who discovers a hidden Antarctic civilisation. A characteristic contributor to the pre-Gernsback pulp tradition of exotic scientific romance.
