Joseph Shallit

Joseph Shallit (1915–1995) was a Philadelphia author of hard-boiled mystery novels featuring detective Dan Morrison, who also wrote science-fiction short stories for the 1950s magazines, ‘Education of a Martian’ (Galaxy, 1952) among them. A son of Russian-Jewish immigrants, he later edited an employee magazine for the Pennsylvania Railroad. A capable hand across crime and SF.
