Sir Gilbert Parker (1860–1932) was a hugely popular Canadian-born novelist and British MP, best known for historical romances of Canada and the North. Among his large output are tales touching the fantastic and the weird; his blend of adventure, history and the uncanny made him one of the best-selling authors of his day.
