F. L. Wallace (1915–2004), a mechanical engineer by training, was one of the more stylish voices of the Galaxy years in the 1950s. Stories such as ‘Student Body’, ‘Delay in Transit’ and ‘Tangle Hold’, and the novel Address: Centauri (1955), earned him a reputation for wit and unusual emotional depth. A short but distinguished magazine career.
