Elliott O’Donnell (1872–1965) built a long career on the supernatural, writing scores of books of ghost stories and purportedly true accounts of hauntings, werewolves and phantoms. A colourful self-styled ghost-hunter, he was one of the most prolific popularizers of the supernatural in the early twentieth century.
