Vicente Blasco Ibáñez (1867–1928) was Spain’s best-known novelist of his day, author of The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Among his large output is speculative work such as the future-vision and disaster elements of some later novels, and his epic, dramatic style carried into imaginative territory. A major popular voice of Spanish letters.
