Frigyes Karinthy (1887–1938) was one of Hungary’s greatest writers, a brilliant humorist and essayist who wrote the satirical science-fiction novels Voyage to Faremido and Capillaria as new voyages of Gulliver, exploring machine intelligence and gender through Swiftian invention. He also first articulated the ‘six degrees of separation’ idea. A key Central European speculative satirist.
