Tengerkisasszony: Vázlat, holdfényben by H. G. Wells
On a moonlit shore, a sea-maiden comes among mortals, and longing and wonder shadow the summer air, a sketch, in moonlight, of desire from beyond the human world.
H. G. Wells's 1902 novel 'The Sea Lady' (this Hungarian edition) is a wry, melancholy fantasy of a mermaid ashore. Ironic, wistful, beautifully told. Read it for a subtler Wells, a mermaid's arrival among Edwardian society as a sly, poignant fable of enchantment and the pull of the impossible, here in Hungarian.
